Indulge your sweetheart

Indulge your sweetheart in something truly decadent: chocolate. Enough said.

Show him how much you appreciate him

John Gray, in his book “Men are From Mars, Women are From Venus”, tells women that appreciation is one of the primary needs of men. So let’s lavish some heavy-duty appreciation on our boyfriends and husbands this Valentine’s Day. Try this: cut small heart shapes out of coloured paper and on each heart write something you appreciate about him, something he does that makes your life easier, something about who he is that you couldn’t live without. Place all the hearts in a jar or cool little box and give it to him on Valentine’s Day.

Picnic for two

Pack a blanket and a portable lunch or dinner – think chicken wings, carrot and cucumber sticks, chocolate brownies, strawberries and more - and hit the nearest park or beach for a chilled, romantic picnic.

Brush up on your massage technique

There can’t be a man on the planet who would decline a complimentary Valentine’s shoulder massage. Hey, he might even offer to return the favour…

Bake biscuits

It’s quick, it’s easy, and if you bake a big enough batch, you can even share the love with your family.

Make a card

Don’t rely on Mxit to deliver your message. Instead use photos, cut-out words and cool textures to whip up a home-made card this Valentine’s Day.

Make a playlist

His songs, your songs, love songs, as long as they’re all cool songs. Burn them onto a CD and if you’re feeling really creative, whip up a CD cover for your Valentine’s Album.
